Toni Negri è tornato in Italia (e quindi in carcere) il 1 luglio 1997, dopo aver vissuto in esilio in Francia per quattordici anni: lo ha fatto volontariamente con il desiderio di contribuire, con il suo gesto, alla soluzione del problema degli esuli e dei detenuti incriminati o condannati per fatti legati agli "anni di piombo". Oggi ancora, passa tutte le sue notti in carcere. Volendo conoscere il suo punto di vista sulla Guerra, siamo stati ricevuti in nome delle amicizie profonde che aveva saputo tessere in Francia.

Toni Negri est retourné en Italie (donc en prison) le 1 juillet 1997 après avoir vécu comme exilé politique en France pendant quatorze ans. Rentré de son plein gré avec la volonté de contribuer, par ce geste, à la résolution du problème des exilés et des détenus poursuivis ou condamnés pour des faits survenus au cours des "années de plomb". Aujourd'hui encore toutes les nuits pour lui se passent en prison. Ayant souhaité connaître son point de vue sur la Guerre, il nous a reçus au nom des amitiés profondes qu'il avait su lier en France.

On July 1, 1997, after fourteen years of exile in France, Toni Negri returned to Italy, and thus to prison. He did so voluntarily, in the hope that his action would help to solve the continuing problem of exiles and political prisoners pursued or condemned for acts committed during the socially and politically violent period of the 1970's, the "years of lead". Today, he still spends each night in prison. When we went to ask him for his views on the War, he agreed to speak with us in the name of the deep friendships forged during his years in France.
